In today’s world – where people always seek for the story behind the brand – it is essential to convey the company’s purpose and values by presenting a familiar image, a trademark for the brand and a portrayal of its core values. In this way – the Nestlé Nest became the motif of our office design project which – besides a complete refurbishment of Nestlé’s over 3000 sqm. Bucharest headquarters – involved a major change in workplace guidelines and office environment: an open, flexible, and highly collaborative office space, where the three dimensions of workplace identity merge together: Nestlé’s global values, local culture, and each Nestlé Brand identity.
Apart from being one of the most recognized logos in the world today, Nestlé’s Nest symbolizes family, comfort, warmth, safety and security – all transcribed in the design concept of the space by both visual and functional solutions, such as the variety of support spaces that encourage a sense of community, attention to the needs of employees by providing better ergonomics and acoustic protection, the presence of natural light and familiar textures such as natural wood, live plants and elements that recall nature: the carpet with its natural pattern, the wallpaper, the warm color palette of the entire space.
Aligned with the new workplace guidelines, the space is designed to support and encourage a high-choice kind of organization, where space is re-attributed to activities and not individuals. Of course, every department has a dedicated neighborhood, but desk sharing principles are implemented, so employees can embrace the entire floor as their workspace, based on their needs.
Employees have access to a variety of areas beyond their desks, from huddle rooms, innovation areas, conference and training rooms, project spaces for teamwork or quiet rooms for focused work, to showrooms or presentation spaces – each carefully designed to fit every department and individual brand’s requirements.
